A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine provides power for the Base and S Jetta generating 115 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque mated with standard five-speed manual transmission and optional six-speed automatic. The automatic Jetta returns 23 mpg city, 26 mpg combined and 34 mpg highway EPA-estimated fuel economy while the manual model returns 25 mpg city, 28 combined and 34 highway. A 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is available for the SE and SEL bringing 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. A 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine is new for the 2015 VW Jetta TDI boosting 150 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque mated with standard six-speed manual and optional six-speed automated-manual transmission.
