A 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine is standard on the SE and SEL model generating 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque mated with standard five-speed manual transmission and optional six-speed automatic. It can hit 8.4 seconds to reach to 60 mph from zero for a manual SEL model. A 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine is standard on the 2013 VW Jetta TDI generating 140 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque mated with standard six-speed manual and optional six-speed automated manual dual-clutch transmission.
